Purchasing & Borrowing Equipment

Purchasing lacrosse equipment can be a significant investment, especially for new players just starting out. Many families have found success reaching out to friends and family via social media for gently used gear or offers to lend equipment. Additionally, Shen Lacrosse Club offers a limited supply of equipment for newer players who wish to try out the sport before committing to a full purchase. It's important to remember that the equipment your child uses should be up to safety standards and fit properly to ensure maximum protection during play. If you’d like to borrow gear from our club, please reach out to us at [email protected].

Boys’ Field Player Equipment

Required Equipment

1 Helmet We find that "adult" helmets are the way to go for most kids age 8 and up. The youth helmets are good, but tend to be really small, and kids can grow out of them quickly. They all come as one size fits all, as they have adjustable ear pads and rear panels. We suggest going to a store like Dick's and trying them on for size before making a purchase. Cascade XRS
Cascade CS-R
2 Stick When it comes to lacrosse equipment, the lacrosse stick is the most important piece. The wrong stick with a bad string job could require a lot of adjustment to throw correctly, leading to bad habits, frustration and ultimately an early exit from the game. Make sure the stick is of good quality (no fiddlesticks!), strung well and the right size. If you have questions or need help, please ask a coach and we'll be happy to help.
